Psycho Educational Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Groups

The Anxiety and Depression Center is pleased to offer four, ongoing cognitive behavioral therapy groups.

One group is a Social Anxiety Group, a second group is an Anxiety and Depression Group a third group is a Mindfulness and Compassion Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Group and the fourth group is a Coping Skills For Teens Group.

Each track of groups consists of 10 or 12 group sessions and an individual pre-group screening session. The groups will focus on the development of CBT skills that have shown to be effective.
These cognitive behavioral therapy groups therapy are a cost-effective alternative to individual therapy. Individualized treatment in the context of a group setting can be a powerful therapeutic experience. The groups will provide participants with a safe and supportive environment that can be the foundation for durable change.

Coping Skills For Teens A CBT Group Program

13 week program

Includes:

  • 1 individual intake/screening session
  • 12 group sessions - 90 minutes each

Group sessions are based in empirically validated cognitive behavior therapy (cbt/dbt) treatment protocols. These groups are designed for teenagers who struggle with self-esteem, anxiety, depression, confidence, mood problems, dealing with stress or have communication difficulties.

Social Anxiety Group Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

13 week program

Includes:

  • 1 individual intake/screening session
  • 12 group sessions - 90 minutes each

Empirically based group sessions include psychoeducation, ongoing monitoring of progress, graduated and prolonged exposure, cognitive restructuring, anxiety management, weekly between session, homework assignments, relapse prevention.

Anxiety and Depression Group Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

11 week program

Includes:

  • 1 individual intake/screening session
  • 10 group sessions - 90 minutes each

Group therapy utilizing Mind Over Mood as the treatment manual. Group members will learn how to apply cbt principles in their lives in order to alleviate symptoms of anxiety, depression, anger guilt or shame. A cost effective alternative to individual psychotherapy or as an adjunct to treatment with psychotropic medications.

Mindfulness Based Group Cognitive Therapy

11 week program

Includes:

  • 1 individual intake/screening session
  • 10 group sessions - 90 minutes

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) is an evidence-based treatment that uses attention training to reduce difficult emotions and negative thinking. This group is designed to benefit patients who are currently in remission, or partial remission, from depressive episode(s) or are currently experiencing anxiety.
